Always In Our Memories, Always In Our Hearts

Zoey was around a year and a half old, and she was at the vet to be spayed. Everything went well, but when they removed the intubation tube, she coded. They were able to use the paddles and medications to bring her back, but when they did an ultrasound on her heart, they found that she had severe aortic stenosis. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for cats with this rare congenital defect. We were able to keep Zoey’s ashes and a clay imprint of her paws. Zoey had a family interested in adopting her after her spay, and it was very sad to think about the happy life she should have gotten to live. We are grateful to the vet for the care they took in cremating her and caring for her while she was with them.

Henry was around a year and a half old, and we were so looking forward to bringing him to the cat room to socialize him and give him a chance at a loving home. Unfortunately, he was hit by a car and died before we got the chance. Henry’s death left a hole in our hearts.

We do not have any pictures of Zero while she was alive. We were able to catch her brothers, Jack and Sally, before it got too cold, but we could never get close enough to Zero to catch her. We found her body outside at a barn one cold morning and she had sadly died sometime during the night.
